Understanding Dharma and Dharma Archetypes

The concept of Dharma originates from ancient Eastern philosophies and spiritual traditions, most notably in Hinduism and Buddhism. Dharma is often translated as "the right path" or "purpose" in life, representing the unique duty, role, or mission each individual is meant to fulfill. It’s not just about a profession or a specific task, but rather living in alignment with your deeper calling and what feels true and natural to you. When you live according to your Dharma, you experience feelings of purpose, fulfillment, and even flow states.

Your Dharma is the combination of your passions, skills, and what you can give to the world around you. Knowing and living by your Dharma helps you lead a life of intention, joy, and contribution. That’s where Dharma Archetypes come in: they offer a simplified framework to identify your natural tendencies, strengths, and how you can best contribute to the world. By understanding your archetype, you can better align your actions and career choices with your soul's true purpose.

If you've heard of Dharma Archetypes before then you're probably aware that knowing which one you are can seriously guide you in your life's path in purpose and fulfillment.

There are many exercises out there to identify yours, but I've got a simple way to figure yours out here. Have a look at the below table and feel a sense for what archetype you may best fit in -- remember, its not a work of art, it doesn't have to be perfect.
